Whenever I go on vacation, I try to throw something in there that is a little geeky. Sometimes, it’s an event like a convention, other times its a quirky art gallery visit or shopping at a store that has a nerdy flavour. This past week I spent a girls vacation in New York City with my mom and my sister. Though a most of our time was spent visiting tourist attractions, shopping and eating like champions, my mom and sister were willing to join me in experiencing the only Nintendo World Store on planet earth. During my last NYC trip the store didn’t exist, so I just had to check it out.

The Nintendo World Store lives at 10 Rockefeller Plaza. We showed up at about 3pm on a Monday afternoon so it was pretty tame in the store. That wasn’t a problem for me since I wanted to take photos :). I imagine the place was packed yesterday in celebration of Nintendo Day with the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the Amiibos and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Check out all the photos below that I took as I was geeking out over all the Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Pokémon goodies. If you are planning a trip to NYC and are a huge Nintendo fan, I highly recommend checking out the store. You can play some games before release, pick up some Wii U and 3DS games for the road, get your hands on some official Nintendo swag and see some really awesome Nintendo memorabilia. I picked up some street passes on my 3DS too!
