The Avengers are back for round 2 in the superhero extravanganza Avengers: Age of Ultron and it would appear that Tony Stark is once again running the show. Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye are all on board, attempting to make things right after things initially go incredibly wrong (your basic superhero movie formula).
After Tony Stark unintentionally (or perhaps intentionally in the grand scheme of things) breeds a Frankenstein-esque monster, the Avengers’ world unravels yet again. Ultimately, the plot line begs the familiar “sci-fi” question of whether or not our technological advances will inevitably be the undoing of all things we humans currently know to be true.
For those of you who are disturbed by the mega-hollywood perversion of comic book Marvels (quite literally) this blockbuster production will prove to keep the best of you enraged and ranting.
Not lacking in explosions, redemption and fist fights (you’ll get it when you see it), Avengers: Age of Ultron is absolutely similar to all of the other comic book inspired films currently out there.
Although it may be similar to the others in its general content, the film’s director Joss Whedon did a great job with the characters development in this film. I personally felt like there was growth in the characters’ individual stories since the first film, The Avengers, in 2012.
Finally, this film CAN be enjoyed by all kinds of people, but specifically by those who like the following:
Comic books and the like.
Fast-paced plots with quick humor and jumpy dialogue.
Philosophically inspired themes like chaos vs. harmony.
Adventure style storylines.
A-list celebrities in superhero costumes.
Tony Stark et al.
Otherwise, you may want to steer clear.
